Yes I have heard about Mono. My .NET prof in college told us about it in the introductory lecture for .NET just to break the myth that .NET is platform dependent and so its scope is restricted and stuff stuff.
However, I am a JAVA student so close a little away from the buzz in the .NET world.

]]>BTW, have you heard about the Mono Framwork? It started off as a port of .NET on GNU/Linux in the early 2000’s, but recently, it’s been gaining a lot of attention. It is an open source framework that is binary compatible with .NET, aiming to help .NET devs go cross-platform. In fact, it’s so cross-platform that it has a runtime Nintendo Wii. And tell you what, some of the coolest GNU/Linux apps (like Docky and GNOME Do) have been made using Mono. Worth checking out.
